Privacy policy

Effective

The short version#

MCPmatic's tools run in your browser. Specs and tool lists you paste are processed on your device and are not sent to us. We don't use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and we don't load third-party scripts or fonts.

What we collect#

  • Web server logs. Like almost every website, our web server records standard request details: IP address, date and time, page requested, referring page, browser user-agent and response status. We use these only to keep the site running and secure (for example to diagnose errors and block abuse).
  • Email. If you email us, we receive your address and message and use them only to reply.

We don't collect anything else, and we don't sell or share personal information.

What stays in your browser#

  • Theme choice. If you switch between dark and light mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage (mcpmatic-theme) so it sticks next time. It contains only the word "dark" or "light" and is never sent to us.
  • Converter hand-off. When you click "Check in linter" on the converter, the generated tools are put in session storage so the linter page can open them. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab, and the data is never sent to us.
  • The contents of the linter and converter boxes otherwise stay on the page and are never sent anywhere.

What we don't collect#

  • Cookies or tracking identifiers.
  • Accounts. There are none.

Hosting and retention#

The site is hosted on a cloud server operated by DigitalOcean. Server logs are rotated automatically and kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless needed to investigate a security incident.

Your choices#

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting hello@mcpmatic.com. If you're in Australia and unhappy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes#

If we add anything that collects more data (for example an account system or analytics), we'll update this page and the effective date before it goes live.
